How to manage your time in college effectively??? (Part 3)

College is all about building your personality and enhancing your character and be able to gain real life experiences but how can you manage your time effectively in it to gain the most benefit?!!. In the last two articles we mentioned some time management points, now there is an important point that needs to be addressed. SOCIAL ACTIVITIES or ACTIVE WORKING GROUPS (AWG). This topic is really important for every student in every faculty in every field . Participating in social activity or in any AWG that interest you is really important for almost all students, and the reason for that is the fact that you gain access to interaction with people from different point of views and gain real life experience.

If we took the MUN activity at the GUC for example, it is one of the prestigious activities that are held every year and give the student more chance to research into global politics and to understand how the world is moving around him and to be able to make decisions based on the inputs he has and the policy of the country he represent. Now for someone who would love to work in politics after he graduate that's a dream activity.

We have Bdaya AWG which is one of the most successful groups working at the GUC , it holds revision session for the students before exams , arrange for social and cultural events at the GUC platform and also charitable activities . The same goes for AYB which has proven for the last couple of years to be the most charitable AWG in the university. we have aslo Bigbuddy society the oldest club at the GUC. So you see such activities not just build your personality it helps you to gain experience in life itself and to be responsible for a project that helps others.

Some will ask how can this make me manage my time effectively and I would tell them that reducing the wasted hours by applying what was said in article 1,2 will make more time for you to participate in any activity of the Above. Also note that such activities are as important as studying and for some companies maybe more important because of their shaping to your character and experience. Also if you have such activity on your schedule it will break the weekly routine of college and make you more applicable to study because focusing only on studying will result in your breakdown at the end. Too much of anything is wrong.

Finally what I want to say at the end of this series of Articles is , you are the one who Manage your time and decide what to do , no one else . I am only offering you advice and if you happened to find more effective way apply it and share it with others

What Should we do when we have an internal battle between what's right and what should be done?

We have all passed through this stage , where you have your morals , principles tested about doing what is right and doing what should be done. It is strange really because we usually take the easy way out and do what should be done , in some situation we look at the greater good and in others we try to value which will get us in less trouble. But we miss the most important point, Principles are made to be as reference point for us like a beacon so as not to walk in the wrong direction . At the same time we cannot ignore the fact that we as human beings are emotional , we may try to bend our principles over for some emotional fact that we need to feed or for the need of the feeling that we are not just machines who abide by certain rules.
